Growing up, I was privileged to attend one of the first Montessori schools in Coimbatore, India. As a child, I always enjoyed helping my friends and classmates with their lessons, but never thought of teaching as a profession.
After enrolling my young children in a Montessori school, I began working as a classroom assistant and I loved it. The teacher I assisted was planning her retirement and encouraged me to take AMI Primary training and take over her classroom. Thus, started my journey towards opening my own Montessori program.
With an AMI Primary 3-6 Diploma from the Washington Montessori Institute and an MEd from Loyola University, Baltimore, I bring nineteen years of experience working with children in a Montessori setting.
I love working with children, especially 3 to 6 years old. It is at this age that a child forms a sense of self, learns right from wrong and the foundations to academics are laid. I believe children should have fun and get messy while learning.
It gives me great pleasure and satisfaction as a teacher to be the person to bring this about and inculcate a lifelong love for learning in the lives of the children I touch.
